Driving vacancies at Dennis Dixon Ltd
Dennis Dixon Ltd are always happy to receive applications from candidates interested in LGV1 bulk liquid chemical Tanker Driver positions.
Basic salary :£40,700 per year for Mon-Fri drivers, or in excess of £48,200 for 6+2 shift drivers, plus tax free allowances with real earnings 10-30% above this level depending on work covered.
It is normal that new starters would work on a shift pattern, typically either;
6+2: 6 shifts of work followed by 2 shifts of rest.
6+3: 6 shifts of work followed by 3 shifts of rest.
5+3: 5 shifts of work followed by 3 shifts of rest (overtime possibilities exist).
5+2: 5 shifts of work followed by 2 shifts of rest (sat/sun, or other days to suit).
4+4: 4 shifts of work followed by 4 shifts of rest (overtime possibilities exist).
As new drivers start, shift drivers have the option to move to Mon-Fri working (with optional weekend overtime) when the opportunity arises.
Work will include nights away from home, usually 1-3 per shift rotation (though nighting-out on each night of the pattern,or not at all, may occur depending upon work profile at the time).
A minimum of 2 years LGV1 experience is expected (unless the applicant can demonstrate alternative, relevant experience) together with a current ADR licence (not including classes 1 & 7). Full job-based training will be given to new starters and annual refresher training is undertaken for all drivers.
Bonuses are paid to all drivers where targets are met for incident-free and absence-free performance, plus for sympathetic vehicle management combined with a fuel efficient driving style (as supported by vehicle telemetry – training will be given as part of the induction process). Also payment of approx. £440 meal money (tax-free) + nights-out paid tax-free + some additional taxable allowance as we pay an increased rate. We also operate a defined benefit company pension scheme for all employees fully compliant with government legislation.
